@twwoody9: When the Infatuation Fades that Doesn’t Mean the Love Has ❤️ I’ve been married for 19 years. We’ve been through a lot of hard times, but also some of the sweetest times of our lives. One thing I tell newlyweds is this: When the infatuation fades, it doesn’t mean the love has. I mean, let’s be real. Remember those early days of dating your spouse? You thought they were the cutest, funniest, kindest person you’d ever met. You were completely infatuated, head over heels, and couldn’t get enough of each other. But over time, things change. The mystery starts to fade. You learn each other’s habits, quirks, strengths, weaknesses, and everything in between. You know the good, the bad, and the ugly. And you know what? That’s actually a really beautiful thing. Because now you’re loving someone you truly KNOW. You’ve seen them at their best and their worst. You’ve experienced disappointments, disagreements, struggles, and ordinary life together. Through it all, you continue choosing each other. That’s not love disappearing. That’s love maturing. My husband is my best friend. He’s the person I look forward to telling about my day. He’s the person I want beside me through life’s biggest moments and its simplest ones. He’s the person I can tell everything to. My advice: Look at what your husband IS doing instead of constantly focusing on what he ISN’T doing. Notice the little things. Be thankful for them and tell him you appreciate him. Even when he does something differently than you would have done it, that doesn’t mean he’s doing it wrong. It’s easy to become so accustomed to what our spouses do that we stop noticing. But feeling appreciated and respected means so much to a husband. That doesn’t mean ignoring real problems or pretending everything is perfect. It means being intentional about recognizing the good, even while you’re working through the hard. A few resources that have helped me along the way: Early in our marriage, my husband and I read “The Five Love Languages” together. It helped me understand him better. About two years ago, I discovered Laura Doyle. She has several books and a podcast called The Empowered Wife. I’ve found her perspectives on appreciation and respect so helpful. But above all, my greatest resource has been my Bible. God’s Word has taught me so much about love, patience, forgiveness, humility, and the importance of how we treat one another. Marriage takes two imperfect people who are continually learning, growing, forgiving, and choosing to love each other. After 19 years, I certainly don’t have everything figured out. But I do know the love I have for my husband today is better and deeper than the infatuation I felt when we were newlyweds. I wouldn’t trade that for anything. If you’re in a season where those early butterflies have faded, don’t automatically assume something is wrong. Sometimes love isn’t fading. It’s growing into something even more beautiful. I hope this encourages someone! ❤️ #marriage #fyp #health #restoringgrace #Love
