ALT+i to insert a column with the time you want. ALT+M insert comment. Control+Space = search. you can literally search the chart "trend BP/trend HR/Trend SBP/Trend hgb" and it literally makes a little graph for you.

You can scan your patient from the BRAIN. And the MAR will come up automatically. No need to go to pts chart, then MAR. If that makes sense!

Sit down at some point and do smart phrases. It can pull so much from the charting. Admit, transfer, dc, shift notes, sticky notes. All of them I have essentially templates and just fill in some of the information

If you ever chart something underneath the wrong time by accident, just right click that column and select “change time” instead of having to chart that section all over

That search bar at the very top… you can look up any word in the ENTIRE chart. Not just the current hospitalization. You don’t have to read every note to find what you’re looking for.

Idk if everyone’s epic can, but if you have a question about an order or something, you can add that order to a chat to message the provider and they can fix or do whatever to the order from there

Say you have a task that doesn’t appear on the brain but you want to make sure you don’t forget it in the shift craziness, you can add a reminder to it so you don’t forget. It can be a one time reminder, or you can set the range and dates you want it to appear. Epic is the best, you will love it!

Sticky notes can calculate things. For example, open it and type .MELD And it will calculate the patients MELD and show you all the relevant values.

Click settings on the brain and unclick show completed tasks. It gets rid of all the check marks if you don’t want them and then your screen will be blank when your tasks are completed
