Don’t tell me for me to find my way back. You need to find your way back. You probably got married. Probably had a family at all because of my family messing it up for us. You didn’t even give me a chance I left after that after that shit that came down, I left I left for two years. I came back just like 2 1/2 years ago. I guess I didn’t have my phone. I didn’t have my my number. I totally just left. I had a different number now and I was looking for you and apparently you were weren’t for me.

**7 MONTHS AGO, ELLA TOLD ME ONE STORY… TODAY, THINGS LOOK VERY DIFFERENT. 💔** Ella is **21 years old, originally from Chicago, and currently living in Kensington, Philadelphia.** At the beginning of this updated interview, Ella pulled up to me on a bike—and right away I could tell this conversation was going to be different from the first one we filmed **7 months ago**. Ella told me she had **used her substance shortly before the interview**, but said the effects had already worn off. She even explained that she did it because she wanted this interview to have a **“nostalgic feeling,”** since during our first interview she was extremely high. The biggest difference this time? When I asked Ella directly if she uses the substance often now, **she admitted that she does.** That stood out to me because 7 months ago, she denied dealing with it on a regular basis. Now, hearing her openly acknowledge how often she uses shows just how much can change in a short amount of time. At one point, Ella paused the interview to get some water. When we started again, **she flipped the questions on me.** She wanted to know: **Why do I keep coming out here? Why do I interview people struggling with addiction and homelessness? What is my real motive?** So I told her. This originally started as something I did because I wanted to document what I was seeing. Over time, it became my job—but the mission became much bigger than views. **I share these stories because I want the public to see the human beings behind addiction and homelessness. I want families to find people they’ve lost contact with. I want resources to reach people who need them. And ultimately, I want to see the people I interview make it OFF these streets. 🙏🏽** Seven months can change a person’s life in either direction. Seeing Ella now compared to the first interview is a reminder of how quickly addiction can become a bigger part of someone’s everyday life. **Do you think revisiting people months later helps show the reality of addiction more clearly?** 👇🏽💔 #fyp #trending #addictionrecovery
