Can we also talk about how, for most of their working lives, they had a 9-to-5 job? No cell phones, no emails, no being expected to be available 24/7. They went to work, came home, and actually got to disconnect and spend time with their families, take their kids to sporting events, and enjoy life. And let’s not forget, many could afford a comfortable lifestyle on one salary. Vacations, shopping, groceries, gas, bills, and everyday necessities without constantly stressing about money. I’m an older millennial, and I’m exhausted. I’m burnt out. We’re working more, everything costs more, and somehow we’re expected to keep up with all of it. It has absolutely nothing to do with being lazy. We’re living in a completely different world, and people need to stop pretending we have the same opportunities and quality of life they had.
