@robinsonkimani1: 🥵 How Do People Survive Here?! Our journey to Ekalakala took us from Nairobi through Thika Road and the Nairobi–Garissa Highway before we branched off towards the interior. Along the way, we passed through Ndalani, where we discovered the fascinating hydram pumps these are water pumps that can operate without electricity or fuel. 🚰 When we finally arrived in Ekalakala, we explored the town centre, spoke to some locals about life in this dry environment, visited the local market, and ventured into the interior areas. Despite the harsh conditions, we found people practising farming using drip irrigation and growing crops such as maize, pawpaw and bananas. 🌵🌽 We also visited a section of Masinga Dam and later enjoyed a meal at a local food joint.
