@viralsanctuarybiz: Nasdaq craters 3.7% as AI chips sell off, one day after the Dow's biggest rally since April 2025. The reversal was fast. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 3.7% in early trading Thursday, the S&P 500 fell 2.2% and the Dow lost 1.2%, more than 650 points, according to MarketWatch. The chip trade led the fall: AMD plunged 12%, Intel dropped 8%, Broadcom fell 5% and Nvidia slid more than 5%, while the SOXX semiconductor ETF sank 7%. Qualcomm fell 10% even after beating estimates, hit by weak guidance tied to a phone memory shortage. SanDisk and Seagate each lost more than 12%, and Arm fell 11% after its royalty revenue of $670 million missed the $705 million Wall Street expected, per Investor's Business Daily. All of it landed one day after the Dow jumped 1,569 points, up 3.03% in its best session since April 2025, on the Democratic sweep of Congress. Now traders are pricing in tougher scrutiny of AI data centers, and the names that carried the rally are carrying the decline. That is the trade to watch: when the same stocks power both directions, the story is no longer just earnings. It is how much political risk the AI buildout now carries. Is this a one day shakeout after a huge rally, or the start of a real repricing of AI stocks?
