@rioferdinandpresents: Ryan Giggs tells the funny story of the time an official made the mistake of appearing in Sir Alex Ferguson's view after a defeat 😂 🎥 Join @Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs for The Debrief 🎧
What was Sir Alex Ferguson really like to play for - and how did he keep Manchester United winning for so long? This episode with Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs takes you behind the scenes at the most successful period in the club’s history to mark 40 years since Ferguson’s appointment at United. Giggs recalls meeting Ferguson as a teenager, the personal interactions that stayed with him and how the boss helped him evolve from a flying winger into a midfielder. Rio explains the advice that changed how he defended Luis Suárez and the pair discuss why Ferguson’s tactical ability deserves more recognition. There are revealing stories from inside the dressing room: the day Ferguson asked his senior players to choose a goalkeeper before completely ignoring them all, why he tore into Giggs to send a message to the younger players, and the brutal fall out that happened when his decisions were challenged. They also explain how Ferguson handled dropping players, why individual recognition was so rare and why Giggs only got praise TWICE in over twenty years - even after unforgettable moments like his winner against Arsenal in the Treble season. Plus, Giggs considers what playing the United way means for the current team and offers advice to JJ Gabriel about patience and the best way of making the step into first-team football. #rioferdinand #football #Soccer #manchesterunited
