CHRISTA PIKE MAY HAVE BLOOD CANCER. SHOULD WE FEEL SORRY FOR HER, OR IS THIS KARMA? New information has emerged about Christa Gail Pike’s health, and it’s raising some difficult questions. According to reports published November 4, 2026, Pike’s attorneys warned in a January court filing that she could have a rare blood disorder associated with certain blood cancers. Her attorneys cited thrombocytosis, an abnormally high platelet count, and a possible myeloproliferative disorder. However, an actual cancer diagnosis has NOT been publicly confirmed. These concerns were raised months before Tennessee’s failed September 30 lethal injection attempt, which left Pike hospitalized and reportedly struggling with ongoing physical and emotional pain. But here’s what I keep coming back to. Colleen Slemmer was only 19 years old. In January 1995, Colleen was brutally murdered by Pike and two accomplices in Knoxville, Tennessee. Pike was subsequently convicted and sentenced to death. Colleen never got to grow older, build a future, or experience the life she deserved. And while I believe serious medical concerns should be investigated, my sympathy remains overwhelmingly with Colleen and her family. They have lived with the consequences of her murder for more than 30 years. No medical diagnosis, failed procedure, or court filing can undo what happened to Colleen. Which brings me to a question I genuinely want people to answer: Should we feel sympathy for Pike if she has cancer? Do you believe this is karma, or should someone’s medical suffering be considered separately from their crimes? And does any of this change what you believe should happen to her sentence?
