@viralsanctuarysports: 308 points in 8 games. Nobody has started a season like this since Michael Jordan. Luka Doncic scored 40 points with 9 rebounds and 7 assists on Wednesday night as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings 116-103 for their third straight win. It was his sixth straight game with at least 35 points, and it pushed his season total to 308 points in his first eight games. That number is the story. Doncic is the first player to top 300 points in his first eight games of a season since Jordan scored 303 in 1988-89. The only player who ever scored more in his first eight was Wilt Chamberlain, who did it three times, with a high of 418 in 1962-63. Everyone else in NBA history is behind Luka on this list. Our take: this is not a hot week, it is a scoring pace that has held for eight games against eight different game plans. The Lakers are 7-2, and every defense so far has known exactly who was getting the ball. Is Luka the best scorer in the league right now, or is someone else still ahead of him?
