About a year into our relationship we took a trip to my parent’s house about 3 hrs away. We were getting ready to go to bed and I realized I couldn’t find my blanket piece. (I slept with my baby blanket and had a little piece that came off bc it was so worn that I would bring with me when I traveled). I immediately started tearing up and he started the frantic search for it. After no luck in the house, he started the car getting ready to drive to our house and back in the middle of the night to retrieve my regular blanket. Luckily, we ended up finding it in the car. Anywho, he’s my husband now 🥰

Oh yes, absolutely 100%. That was pure evil. Also, I have a blanket that was made for me by my great grandmother when I was a baby and slept with it well into adulthood. When I was 18, I went through a really rough breakup, and the guy’s mom stole the blanket from me and they all lied about it. She gave it back almost a year later with a letter saying that she “hopes we both learned a valuable lesson” 🙄

I have a tattered blanket I sleep with every night. Left it at hotel once & my partner literally drove us back an hour to go pick it up.

I've never been a blanket person and don't understand it... however... I don't think there's anything weird about bringing your own blanket or pillow when staying away from home? why would the mom even think twice about it? sounds like boyfriend is embarrassed and projecting when there's absolutely nothing wrong with having a comfort blanket
