always knew this day would come. I just never wanted to accept it. Tears in my eyes knowing that the chapter I’ve followed for over two decades has finally come to an end. The door has closed on Cristiano Ronaldo’s international career, and with it, the end of an era for Portugal. For so many of us, the reason we fell in love with Portugal was because of one man. Their leader, their captain, their number 7. The man who carried a nation and ultimately led them to international glory. From watching him at the 2006 World Cup to witnessing his final game against Wales, I feel incredibly fortunate to have followed this journey from almost the very beginning. I’ve watched the boy become a man and a footballer become a legend. I’ll never forget visiting Madeira and meeting people who spoke so proudly of their “little Cris”. It made me realise just how much he means to his island, his country and millions around the world. He’s the greatest I’ve ever witnessed. An inspiration, a leader, a role model and a player larger than life. So much of my own journey has been built around this man. Recreating every single one of his goals, creating edits and collecting his shirts. What started as admiration became a passion that has shaped my life. The number 1,000 is still waiting to be reached, so the story isn’t completely over. But one chapter has closed, and international football will never feel quite the same again. Thank you, Cristiano, for the World Cups, Euros, Nations League, unforgettable goals and memories that will stay with me forever. Thank you for making me fall in love with a country that isn’t even my own. From 2003 to the very last time you wore that shirt, it’s been an absolute privilege. I didn’t just witness a football career. I witnessed history. Obrigado por tudo, Cristiano. 🐐🇵🇹 #cristianoronaldo #portugal #cr7 #football #ronaldo - @ksfootball7
