crazy that you still have to pay a subscription for the sync thingy. as it's completely free on kindle

Kobo is making near 100% profits off this subscription. It is absurdly cheap to have cloud storage for books. For example, 500GB is 250-500 epub files, this works out to cost 13 cents per YEAR for cloud storage. I don’t support this at all, it feels like they’re exploiting their good reputation. There are free alternatives like readest that you can use with Koreader on your Kobo.

One of the only things kindle has over kobo imo is whisper sync & send to kindle. For Kobo to now introduce it behind a paywall… very disappointing. I had my KLC for 2 weeks & I loved it- it’s a great e-reader. I sold it for a boox gc 7 instead (better suited for my manga & manhwa needs + I already have a kindle basic), & now I’m glad I did.

are they getting rid of the Google drive sync? I'm worried that they'll get rid of it with this Kobo stack subscription.

And don’t forget you can borrow books on CloudLibrary directly on kobo without having to use a laptop!!! I was so happy when this happened! CloudLibrary is the best!!

Dang, I’m scared Amazon will get an idea from kobo and start charging to send your Epubs to kindle
