Recipe: MA’S DILL DIP A Treasured Family Heirloom Recipe Some of the best family recipes aren’t complicated. They’re the ones that always had a place on the table, the ones everyone reached for, and the ones you still remember years later. Ma’s Dill Dip was one of those recipes. My grandmother always had it on the table at family gatherings, alongside ranch and the other favorites, so everyone could choose whatever they wanted. It was not Christmas with out it. Fresh vegetables, chilled shrimp, chips, crackers, even a good crab cake—there wasn’t much that didn’t taste wonderful with a little of Ma’s Dill Dip. Creamy, full of dill flavor, and incredibly simple to make, this is one of those treasured family recipes worth keeping around for generations. From Ma’s kitchen to yours. 🤎 PREP TIME: 10 minutes CHILL TIME: 2–3 days YIELD: Approximately 2¼ cups INGREDIENTS 1 cup mayonnaise 1 cup sour cream 1 tablespoon instant onion (dried minced onion) 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes 3 tablespoons dried dill weed 1 teaspoon Mortons Season-All seasoned salt LET’S GET INTO IT 1. Combine the creamy ingredients. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth. 2. Add the seasonings. Stir in the instant onion, dried parsley flakes, dried dill weed, and Season-All until evenly distributed. 3. Let the flavors develop. Cover tightly and refrigerate for 2–3 days. This allows the dried onion and herbs to soften and their flavors to blend into the creamy base. 4. Stir before serving. Give the dip a good stir before transferring it to your favorite serving bowl. Keep refrigerated until ready to enjoy. FINISH WITH A light sprinkle of fresh dill, if desired, and a beautiful platter of whatever you’re in the mood to dip—crisp vegetables, chilled shrimp, chips, crackers, or golden crab cakes. Sometimes the simplest recipes are the ones that become family traditions. #MasDillDip #FamilyHeirloomRecipes #SouthernRecipes #HomemadeDips #SouthernEntertaining
