@mcmahondogtraining: Separation anxiety training starts before you ever leave the house. We're teaching him to feel comfortable with short periods of separation while his owners are home, then gradually introducing the sights and sounds of leaving so he can build confidence being alone. #DogTraining #dogtrainer #dogs #dogtrainingtips #dogobedience

I think crate training hurts the owners emotionally more than the puppy [Tears of joy]

i'm having a similar issue with my 1yo chihuahua, she has a crate in the bedroom to sleep at night but not in living room when she stays when i'm.alone. i usually let here alone in the living room when I leave but her baeking has been getting worse so i put the crate there and put her in it and when I left she barked louder than she used to, she seemed extremely anxious. can i stop with crate and use her basket as usual and just close the living room door instead and doing the same exercice this man id doing with the front door ?

I genuinely don’t understand how anybody could lock a dog in a cage for several hours at a time with almost zero stimulation.

I have a 11-week-old puppy, gone 7 hours for work 3 days a week but able to come home for a 2-hour break. We’re doing positive crate training with treats, but she still panics and cried the entire 1.5 hours I was gone. How do I make this easier on her? 🥺

What do I do if she just won’t spot going to the bathroom in her kennel. She doesn’t whine in it but anytime I leave her alone in it for even two seconds she goes in it unless I am around and home

My dog does good with not whining, barking or trying to get out but she rips anything and everything near the crate. If it's something she can tear into pieces, she will. If it's a blanket or piece of clothing, she pulls it through the holes. How do I fix THAT? 😭

I think each dog I had learned my phrases when I’m leaving, which meant they knew I was coming back. I never leave without telling them where I’m going. I always say I love them, be good and I’ll be back soon. I think they’ve learned that phrase rather than just being ok with me leaving. Lol

It’s so worth it in the end!!!!! It sucked at first but, when you introduce it in a positive way it works wonders. 💗
