My son lost his home in 21' during a 100yr flood and got ZERO help with resources because "he wasn't in a flood zone" 2 years later, it flooded again (he didn't go back after the 1st time) .. it's flooded 2x more and each time the city says it's not a flood zone, making it impossible to get approved with FEMA or another resource for help.

Zero preparations btw after happening just recently blows my mind. But it requires 6mil plastic behind 3 thick 4ft high sand bags and using your window as an entrance and exit during flood warnings. Stop building in the flood zone, dont buy/rent in a flood zone

Prayers for this family. Taxpayer money needs to be used to protect taxpayers from knowingly preventable disasters, whether that means not building on unlivable land or building infrastructure that prevents flooding of people’s homes. You’d want that if you were her!
