Can smell that pattern from a mile away. It ruined a company that I worked for… they’d outsourced core product functionality to a team that would just build features on request with no consistent team or consideration for tech debt. Willllllllllllllld to see this at a much more massive scale and thanks for your reporting

One of the largest it fails. I think that ever happened was when the health system in the UK allocated millions and millions of dollars to unify their entire public health system. it would have kept thousands of people from dying because you could share their diagnosis and their drugs and everything across the network. you could find people that were misdiagnosed. you could get people into doctor's offices quicker. and it all failed because they couldn't find a software company in the UK that wanted to take it on. because the requirement. was it be a UK company. That's what's happening and that's what's wrong here

There was no lesson to learn. The aim was always to give private sector buddies money. No one in the NHS agrees spend that size, it’s the treasury.

“This makes no sense. Clearly, a large company that doesn’t know our system, is the best option to come in and rewrite our system. Our internal IT, many of whom worked on this system for decades, was saying it would take 3-4 years to build, whereas this contractor claims they will do it in a year.” - every CEO

Palantir is anything but ethical. None of this surprises me. Vendor lock in executed with audacity.

so I guess they don't really have an IT director network wide. or if it is then he's being driven. to not know the impact of losing a vendor is seriously A crime. not knowing that a vendor is going to go away and what's going to stop working.

You should watch videos by @thescouseoracle she has been looking into a lot of contracts in the U.K. I have a friend who has been transferring info to this platform. They said it’s slower than the current one , clunky and more time consuming to do tasks! Oh and let’s not forget who owns Palinter???
