@trendingteeadaily: EARTHQUAKE ROCKS TANZANIA'S LAKE VICTORIA REGION A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Tanzania on Thursday, November 5, 2026, around the Lake Victoria region. According to earthquake monitoring records, the tremor occurred at approximately 12:22 p.m. local time, at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometres. The epicentre was reported near Masumbwe and Ushirombo, with Mwanza also within the wider region. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre recorded 37 felt reports following the earthquake. Because the earthquake was relatively shallow, its shaking could be felt more strongly in nearby communities. Authorities and monitoring agencies continue to track seismic activity in the region.
