@ksbw_8: Investigators are seeking two suspects after a series of burglaries in the Santa Cruz Mountains over Halloween weekend, linking them to four break-ins along Highway 9 in Boulder Creek and Ben Lomond. Santa Cruz County sheriff’s investigators said the incidents began early on Oct. 30, when the suspects broke into Scarborough Lumber in Boulder Creek at 4:40 a.m., stealing Milwaukee-branded tools and a store safe containing approximately $3,000. “Just random drills, saws, all different types of Milwaukee-branded power tools,” Glenn Ullum, with Scarborough Lumber, said. Twenty minutes later, the suspects targeted Ben Lomond Market, where they tried to steal another safe but failed. The next day, investigators said the pair committed two more break-ins. One occurred at Masood’s Liquor and Deli, and the other at a second Scarborough Lumber location in Ben Lomond, where knives and tools were stolen. “We had a knife display case, so they used the crowbar to snap the locks on there and then empty that out as well. And they were in and out pretty quickly,” a store representative said. “Probably estimated about $10,000, that they got a product from us,” Ullum Investigators said they have a lead in the case, as a black Chevy linked to the burglaries has been found. However, the suspects remain at large. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
