its really cool seeing people make a post about this. the company I work for does the scheme on behalf of the government in the Highlands and its just fantastic. We also got our first flat on the scheme and then managed to sell 8 years later and have a good deposit for a house. not having to pay rent on the share or anything is brilliant.

I hate that the criticism of these schemes is always “but government take X amount when you sell!” Hun, how am I going to own a property to sell in the first place?? I’m not thinking about the sale of a flat I don’t even have yet!

The lift scheme sounds so similar to how i bought my flat with the help to buy scheme, the government’s percentage is 20%

Don’t feel bad about paying for a Mortgage advisor; some of the best charge the customer - keeps them honest. Either you pay them and they work to your interest or the mortgage providers do
