I got lucky with my daughter. even as a baby in a highchair she would just sit and watch people. she never wanted to get up and run around even when she started walking. she just liked to people watch [Laugh approved]

im putting some blame on the manager for the customer feeling "targeted" sending notes to the table is unprofessional AF. either have a policy paper up somewhere for all to see, either on the front door or hostess stand ect. then when they need to address it they can point to the public policy as a reference. the customer might still get irritated and be an AH but at least you cant be accused of "targeting" them

I think managers should be the ones to go up and correct the behavior of unruly tables the first time. Servers shouldn't have to deal with people who are most likely going to throw a tantrum over being asked behave and parent.
