A ring is secured around the head, and a gentle, gradual pull from gravity and weights stretches the spine over time. The idea is to improve how flexible the curve is and, in some cases, to better prepare the spine for surgery. 🦴 Here’s why it’s used: ✅ Severe scoliosis can be stiff, and a gradual stretch may make a later surgery safer and more precise. ✅ Patients can often move around, sit up, and even do daily activities while in traction, depending on the plan. ✅ It’s done under close supervision by a medical team, because every child and every curve is different.
