@footballfanpage886: 🚨Sergio Ramos on Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement from the Portuguese national team: 🗣️ Reporter: Sergio, what is your reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to retire from international football following his disagreement with Jorge Jesus? 🎙️ Sergio Ramos: “Honestly, I think Cristiano has handled this situation terribly. He’s my friend, but friendship doesn’t mean I have to agree with everything he does. You cannot represent your country for so many years, become its greatest footballing icon, wear that captain’s armband and then leave the national team in the most disappointing way possible because of a disagreement with your coach. I find it difficult to understand. Portugal gave Cristiano everything, and he gave Portugal so much in return. Is this really how he wants people to remember his international career? Because right now, the conversation is no longer about his achievements but about his behaviour and his fallout with Jorge Jesus. 🗣️ Reporter: Do you believe he should have retired earlier? 🎙️ Sergio Ramos: “Let’s be sincere. Yes, I think he should have made this decision a long time ago. His performances were no longer what they used to be, and he needed to understand that the national team is bigger than any individual player. Nobody is bigger than the badge. 🗣️ Reporter: You mentioned his legacy. Do you think Lionel Messi handled his international career differently? 🎙️ Sergio Ramos: “Look at Messi. Look at how beautifully he eventually completed his story with Argentina. He endured years of criticism and disappointment, but he kept fighting, won the trophies and gave his country the ending they deserved. That’s what Cristiano should have aimed for. Not arguments, unnecessary controversy or walking away in bitterness. I respect Cristiano’s achievements, but I strongly disagree with how he has handled this situation. Portugal deserved better, and his legacy deserved a much better ending.”
