@the_context_cut: 🇺🇸🚨 DEMOCRATS WON CONGRESS — BUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
🔥 “LAWYER UP!” A two-word statement sparks questions about what comes next in
Washington.
With Democrats preparing to exercise their congressional majority, the debate is shifting
from winning elections to delivering results.
🎙️ Former CIA officer John Kiriakou breaks down the political stakes, including potential
investigations into the Trump administration, the Epstein files, the Iran conflict, rising
fuel prices, and America's housing affordability crisis.
⚖️ Investigations or real solutions? Kiriakou questions whether congressional
investigations alone will address the everyday problems facing American families.
🏛️ The bigger question: Will Democrats focus on holding officials accountable, tackling
the cost of living, or both?

Although I understand the message, I believe you gotta investigate and follow the money, perhaps not to impeach Trump but to take action against everyone else who bought their way into his pocket

We can do both; hold the corrupt accountable and fix the economy.

The senate very well could vote guilty, depending on the charges & evidence.
If the GOP stands any hope of savaging their party in the next decade, they're going to need to sever (not distance) themselves from MAGA, and quickly. This blue wave will continue if they don't.

so just one question if ice is following our laws how are they abusing the laws?
and how can you not call out Biden for abusing the laws by letting all those people in.
if you look at all of the money spent to protect the border while Biden was in office and all the people that were let in you got to ask yourself where all that money went that they were using to spend to protect our borders which they did not protect.
it was Biden administration actions that caused the actions ice had to take to clean this country up.

But there are several ways to pursue accountability that Trump cannot simply erase with a presidential pardon.
The most practical alternatives
1. State criminal prosecutions. Presidential pardons do not cover state crimes. If conduct violates New York, California, Virginia or another state’s criminal laws, state prosecutors can investigate and prosecute independently. The limitation is that they must establish a genuine state-law offense and jurisdiction.
2. Civil litigation. Presidential pardons do not extinguish ordinary civil liability. Victims, businesses and sometimes state governments can seek damages or injunctions. Sovereign immunity, official immunity and standing can limit these cases, but a federal pardon is not itself a defense to civil liability.
3. Preserving evidence for a future administration. Congress can investigate, obtain documents and create a public evidentiary record. A future Justice Department could pursue federal crimes not covered by valid pardons, provided the statutes of limitations and other legal requirements permit prosecution.
4. Preventing continuing misconduct. Court injunctions, independent oversight and congressional restrictions on spending can stop or limit unlawful conduct without requiring a criminal conviction. This may be more immediately useful than waiting years for a prosecution.
5. Impeachment and disqualification. Pardons cannot reverse impeachment or a Senate judgment removing an official and potentially disqualifying that person from future federal office. However, conviction requires two-thirds of the Senate.
An additional strategy: A pardon doesn’t necessarily end an investigation
There’s a potentially important legal consequence of pardoning witnesses.
A person who receives a sufficiently broad federal pardon may lose the ability to invoke the Fifth Amendment against self-incrimination for the covered federal offenses.
That means Congress could potentially compel testimony about pardoned conduct, although witnesses could still assert the Fifth Amendment if truthful answers exposed them to state prosecution or uncovered federal crimes outside the pardon.
A pardon also does not authorize future crime
