no!!!! why do democrats keep trying this? . Why need the electoral college. -The republic was created to stop mob rule and protect the minority. -Essentially to win the Presidency if there were no electoral college, one would only need to win the top 45-50 major cities in the country to get a majority of votes. -places like Wyoming, Iowa, Washington, New England or any rural community becomes irrelevant overnight. -if every vote matters then only the votes in the largest states would matter. This is why voter ID is so very important. Otherwise we might as well mail ballots to Mexico City, Hong Kong, and Londonstan -without the electoral college there would be no reason for 30 states and about 85% of counties to be part of the union
