I do move out cleans exclusively as a solo cleaner and 100 bucks flat is INSAAAAANE. like, youre just paying me to breathe in there essentially unless its a studio apartment.. and thats not a deep clean for suuuure

I work with apartments and i charge $220 it’s like 2 bedroom one bathroom. Typically not too big. Takes maybe 2 hours with 2 people. I also work in a 55+ community and do move out/in cleans and that’s like $100-$120. But these are much better condition! Like upkept well and i only do like 12 maybe a year.

That is common. I stopped doing that type of cleaning years ago. Sometimes apartment clean out don’t pay in 30 days. We also stop cleaning daycare and hair salons all not worth it.

I’m in AR and just received an email from a community manager at one of the complexes we do live-out cleanings and told us this would be the last month they’ll work with us because they had another cleaning company that offered them a much better rate than us. I asked for the rate to see if J could match it and they said $125. What?! No way. I’m also disgusted and very disappointed. These are solo cleaners that think they’re doing good by getting all these jobs not realizing they’re literally affecting the cleaning industry by basically giving away their labor 😭.

the part no one talks about how these companies not only drive a race to the bottom on their vendor list from a pricing perspective but they also Drive wages down in the industry. how can someone properly compensate their people at rates like that. it's not possible. and the company who set that rate at $100 a unit is one of the largest factors in one of the biggest problems in our industry. I had a similar experience with my company @360 Home Services | Arizona when we got reached out to for a large luxury apartment community owner who owns thousands of doors in our market. they wanted to pay $129 per unit. Sometimes the prize catch is not that at all.
