Normal behavior. It’s to get you focused and return and pass!! We do it for all schools. Ranger, Pathfinder, airborne, air assault. We make fun it’s not bullying.

Infantry Branch takes that TAB way too seriously, it’s not RASP….. I branched Engineer. Ranger School was offered to me out of OBC. I did get a slot for SAPPER school. I failed out in last phase of the school. I was a good officer with an OCS commission. I retired as a senior field grade. I guess it’s a different world in regard to infantry.

I was a WO and spent time in infantry, armor, SOF, engineer, ADA. I certainly would not want to be an infantry officer without a ranger tab, that must have sucked bad!

I’ve seeen ncos giving hard times just for fun which I’m for to a certain degree but I’ve seen some pretty ridiculous stuff I’ve also seen it be selective giving whimpier guys a harder time

I did 26 years and I said that my whole career. All tabs are as a good old boy system.

Nah, officers are treated differently. If you’re in a battalion perhaps you get ribbed a little but I didn’t make it and I didn’t get bullied. It’s a tough school. I suppose it matters how you failed

Ret SFC here, I never tolerated my soldiers or my platoon leader being bullied.

Can I ask what unit you were with? I was commissioned in the Infantry before there was an aviation branch but went straight to Rucker after IOBC. My best friend went to the 82nd after flight school and after getting injured when they sent him back to Benning for jump school they stuck him in the shop.

I retired as an Infantry Major without a tab. There is definitely bullying about the tab from senior officers. I have 3 bronze stars 4 combat deployment and CIB but it doesn’t matter.
