Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr took a moment to gloat about the results of the US midterm Elections after a blue tsunami swept the country. Voters cast their votes and delivered a significant blow to President Trump's plans for the final two years of his presidency as Democrats flipped Senate, House, Governor and state legislature seats across the country. Kerr, who has long been a vocal proponent of liberal policies and has decried Trump in the past, made a joke about one of the President's unfulfilled promises: that Americans would start receiving $5,000 'dividend' checks if Republicans won the midterms. 'I'm disappointed,' Kerr told reporters when asked about the election results. 'I was looking forward to that $5,000 check we were all going to get.' 'I thought for sure... I already spent it, in fact, and I was so excited about it and sure about it that I spent it already.' Kerr joked: 'Now I'm gonna have to figure something out.' Tuesday's elections resulted in a landslide for the Democrats and may have signaled the death knell for the MAGA movement. Democrats flipped US Senate seats in battleground states like North Carolina, Iowa and Ohio, as well as in historically deep-red states like South Carolina, Texas, Kansas. Two days after the election ended, Democrats are leading in the Senate races in Alaska and Mississippi - which could lead to them holding 56 seats in the upper chamber of Congress. Meanwhile, the party can already count 249 seats in the House of Representatives - with further potential to win more as votes continue to be counted. Democrats also flipped five gubernatorial seats to take a 28-20 advantage - with votes in the Alaska and Kansas governor races still being counted. It could set up two years of very little being done in Congress for the President. #stevekerr #donaldtrump #goldenstatewarriors #midterms #NBA
