I literally do the laundry in office. Good offices do things right. No comfort menu but we have blankets

Also at some point…people just have to take personal responsibility. If you know you get cold easily then being a jacket or a small blanket for yourself…or bring a neck pillow or something for yourself. Or if you know you get anxiety and prefer eye patches or lip balm or WHATEVER just bring it yourself.

We offer blankets for our sedations patients OR if someone is genuinely really cold (it’s hardly ever cold in our office). Neck pillows too if someone needs it but that’s it. That would be way too much to handle if we had to offer all that extra stuff 😭😳

I have dental anxiety as a 26 year old active duty person and by far my best experience was with the periodontists who just talked to me, listened and reassured me everything would be fine!

i agree with you. if a pt wants music, movies, blankets, bring your own. i worked in a place that gave movie machines, half the time i spent several minutes helping getting them going and picking movies. drove me crazy!!

Why even a debate? Every practice is different. I offer extensive spa features as a dental spa which works great with adults. I have a small pool of pediatric pts , they show ZERO interest in the comfort menu which makes a total sense. Sanitary part is a big deal. Pillows have disposable covers, blankets are washed after each use.

If they don’t have a washer they should not be offering blankets that gross! We have blankets and I’d say at most we maybe give out 3 a day if that, it’s if they ask or we can tell they’re super cold. Then we wash it but it’s not a crazy amount of laundry bc maybe it’s 1-3 a day

You don’t need a comfort menu .. I truly believe that kids will love you the moment they see you. My 20mo daughter snatched my phone out of my hand while I’m watching your video.. she looks at you smiling and running away 😂😂😂

I get so much anxiety but I always let the team know I’ll be closing my eyes & putting my AirPods in. They just tap my shoulder whenever needed & it works every time. One time I did forget my AirPods and they offered some like headphones which was nice of them

I had oral surgery last week and they gave me a weighted blanket and toasty slippers. It was so nice and unexpected. 😂 But I didn’t go for that. I went bc she’s an amazing oral surgeon.

I absolutely agree with you, I just want my dentist to take care of my teeth and answer my questions and be empathetic and respectful to me! I don’t care about stupid blankets or aromatherapy! It’s a dentist office not a spa! Just treat me and be kind and professional 🙌
