@sfstandard: For the third time in under five years, San Francisco voted no on Proposition G, keeping the Upper Great Highway closed to cars and retaining Sunset Dunes Park. For many San Franciscans, the battle over the Outer Sunset’s two-mile stretch is a “forever war” they’re sick of fighting. Even residents who live closest to the park voted to leave it be. This year’s vote on the future of Sunset Dunes felt like a nail in the coffin, as Prop. D’s simultaneous win meant getting a new measure on the ballot would be four times harder.
