I just find the whole thing so weird. We talk constantly about ageism at work and then decide someone’s experience has an expiry date once they hit 40. Make it make sense. You don’t have to agree with someone’s advice. I certainly don’t. Challenge it. Question it. Decide it’s not for you. But “they’re over 40, so what could they possibly know about building a career today?” isn’t critical thinking and you could end up being your own cockblock. Some of the best shit I’ve learned has come from people at completely different stages of their careers and lives to me. Take what’s useful, leave what isn’t, but my God PLEASE stay curious. #careers #careeradvice #earlycareers
