hi, that first comment is sorta right and sorta not. butch is a political identity that has far more to do with how a person acts than physical presentation. butches tend to present masculinely, but that's not always the case

I think I have it right and can explain it a little better; but butches are a sociopolitical lesbian identity, where they take on more masculine roles in a relationship, sort of like the opposite of a femme. With a masc, it’s really just to describe the style of a person, and they never really have to be butch or femme, or they can be both!
