This point (fossa canine) is one of the most important zones to work if you care about midface aging. As we age, it’s not just the skin that changes. The bone underneath also remodels. The midface, especially the maxilla, slowly loses support, and the canine fossa becomes more concave. That’s one of the reasons the cheeks can look flatter and the fold next to the nose more pronounced over time. And yes pressure can help bone resorption. It’s called piezoelectric effect :) This area is also interesting beyond anatomy. In meridian maps, it sits close to points traditionally used for midface tension and support. Different language, same zone. How to do this technique correctly: 1.Don’t press with your finger. Let weight of your head put the pressure. Place your hand and let the tissue melt first. 2.Stay deep without forcing. You’re not rubbing the skin, you’re meeting the deeper resistance slowly. 3.Then lift upward without losing depth. That’s what helps the cheekbone area look more supported. If your skin feels dry, this is one of the few techniques where a little cream can help with slide. Save this and add it to your midface work 2 to 3 times per week.
