Had a visitor plug their phone into the USB on back of the heart monitor to charge it for a few hours. Crashed the whole system and downloaded a ton of info onto that phone/cloud account. Took us days to figure out what had gone wrong that night

I had a patient(grown adult)’s elderly mother come in and start ripping out his IVs cause he wasn’t getting better fast enough (had a stroke 2 days prior). I called security and had her banned from the floor

I felt so bad. My dad was in hospital didn’t know he was fall risk and had the alarm pad under him. I went to help him adjust up in bed and set the alarm off. Man I felt so bad and kept apologizing lol

yup, had one like this years ago, before I quit nursing and I yelled at her like that and called the cops on her. she was charged and got a year. good thing the patient did not pass.

I tripped over a cord in my mom's room once and unplugged it and panicked and ran to the nurses station thinking I sent my mom to see Jesus and it turned out to be a charger cord for her iPad. 😳

I had a patient family member who was a resident and internal medicine. Take the amiodarone off of the pump, left it attached to the patient, and free ball it into the patient because she saw bubbles in the tubing. His heart rate converted from a fib 130s to 48.
