@theowtank: Hi all, today I want to touch on a topic that never gets brought up for tanks, and that’s when you should make people look at you and when you shouldn’t. As the rank you have a passive ability that no other role has and that’s your ability to force people’s attention on you, you can’t just ignore a tank walking you down. This is however where most tank players make a crucial mistake, most tanks think that the more the enemy is looking at them, the better but that’s not true. You need to control the enemies attention, make them look at you when it’s valuable for your team but hide and don’t take any damage if there’s no point to it. In this clip for example, I hide behind total cover, no one can see me at all meaning that I can’t take any damage. This allows my supports to focus on pressuring the enemies and helping my dps rather than pouring all their attention and resources into me for no reason. Wait until you have a clear purpose for making the enemy look at you, for example if their tank is on winton and dives my backline, I will engage on the enemies backline to force them to look at me so that they can’t help their Winston in my backline. In this clip, right after killing their hazard I went full force into the enemy team straight down main without thinking twice about taking damage since this is exactly what I want in this situation. Their tank is dead and it’s a 5v4 so I want all the enemies to look at me which allows my teammates to freely take all the surrounding space and clean the remaining enemies up. #overwatch #overwatch2 #ow2 #sigmaoverwatch #overwatchtank
