@amando1020: A 7-year-old girl was stbbed to death while walking along a sidewalk in Chicago, Illinois, on Saturday, October 3. Police said a woman approached Edimari Hernandez Chacon shortly before noon in the Chatham neighborhood and stbbed her multiple times in the back. Officers applied pressure to her wounds before she was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where she died. Bystanders intervened and detained the 48-year-old suspect until police arrived. Reports identify the woman as Shavon D. Gayden. She was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening and remains in police custody in connection with the fatal st*bbing. Formal charges have not yet been filed, and the motive remains under investigation. CWB Chicago reports that the suspect had an outstanding felony warrant for more than 18 months when she was detained. Court records reviewed by the outlet show she pleaded guilty in November 2024 to aggravated battery of a CTA bus driver and received two years of probation. The tollowing month, she was arrested for misdemeanor battery and assault, later pleading guilty in July 2025 and receiving court supervision.
