@kalebguynes: We've made our way through third class and second class. Now it's time to sit down with Titanic's first class passengers. 🚢 First class dining aboard Titanic was designed to rival the grand hotels of Europe. A surviving breakfast menu from April 11, 1912, offered smoked salmon, poached eggs, potatoes, steak, mutton chops, fresh fruit, rolls, scones, buckwheat cakes, Oxford marmalade and much more. On April 14, luncheon included soups, fillets of brill, egg à l'Argenteuil, grilled mutton chops, an extensive cold buffet, cheeses and desserts. That evening became Titanic's final first class dinner. The menu included oysters, salmon with mousseline sauce, Filet Mignons Lili, chicken Lyonnaise, roast duckling, sirloin of beef, Punch Romaine, roast squab, pâté de foie gras, Waldorf pudding, peaches in Chartreuse jelly, chocolate and vanilla éclairs, and French ice cream. Punch Romaine was a frozen citrus and rum palate cleanser served between the heavier courses. And although the menu was enormous, it offered selections across multiple courses. It does not mean that every passenger ate every item listed. The images in this carousel are visual recreations based on surviving 1912 menus. So tell me: would you choose breakfast, luncheon or the final dinner?
