my grandfather argued with his uncle Ben because he wasn't ready to go yet. my dad's mom danced with her nursing home workers and then died with a smile on her face an hour later. my mom's mom kept talking about the beautiful lady in white. her mother had died in childbirth and she'd never had a picture of her.

My grandfather said he couldn’t be taken for groceries because “Delsie” was there to pick him up. Delsie was my grandmother who died years before. My grandfather passed in the car before my dad got his seat belt on. That wasn’t NOT hallucination.

I’m a first responder and a practicing Pagan. The energy around someone dying is charged. You can feel it. Those moments I feel the closest to the Universe when the veil is thin and have a belief these individuals are headed to a new place. It’s the most awful thing because once I feel that energy I know they’re halfway through the trip. That being said, having the opportunity to be with someone who’s passing is one of the greatest gifts and privileges I’ve known. Almost no one should die alone. Be well. 🥰
