Since I went to Irvine and I grew up in San Juan Capistrano/San Clemente, I took that Drive many times in the 1970s through 1990s. It’s really sad to think that it looks so different today.

Does anyone else remember the Buffalo Ranch in Newport Beach? My parents used to bring me there in the late 50s and early 60s. All this left is the Buffalo sculpture on Bonita Canyon and MacArthur Blvd

I would drive my VW bug from Newport to Laguna on weekends. It felt like a long drive without all the development we have now. Just open land except for El Moro. You could still ride horses in the beach then. My friends had an apartment above town and we would go dancing all weekend. White House, hotel Laguna and Deamore’s…fun times.
