Just incase anyone here is not aware-- MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) already includes a markup so the dealership sees profit. low end is typically a 5% markup. so even at MSRP on a $40k car, the dealership is making an easy $2k.

I live in Maryland and went to Westminster to look at a Kia for my daughter I asked them to come down. the salesman told me he could do it they only make $48 on the car. I said I buy the car from you for a $100 so you won't lose money. then he said we make a little more than that. I call another dealership and told them what I wanted to pay. I explain to them if I come down to there dealership and it's not the price he quoted me on the phone. we are going to step outside. long story short I got my price and I call Westminster Kia to let them know they lost a sale
