@drmaryclaire: Women deserve to know their options for treating vaginal dryness and painful sex. On unPAUSED, we discuss low-dose vaginal estrogen and its role in treating genitourinary syndrome of menopause, or GSM. If lubricants are the only option you’ve been offered, ask whether vaginal estrogen could be appropriate for you. You deserve a conversation about your symptoms and the treatments available. ✨Listen to the full episode at the link in my bio. #menopause #womenshealth #midlife #hormonehealth #perimenopause

Listened and loved the podcast. Cervical cancer survivor and last year beat breast. I haven’t had estrogen in years because of the cancer scare. But my oncologist thankfully educated me vaginal estrogen is ok. But I’ve been so depleted for so many years what is a good reasonable estimate for the medication to be at full dose? Three months? Four? It’s been a month and a half and things are better, but still that dry ring of fire you described.
