I've always felt that white people trying to use "white man/white woman" as a pejorative towards other white people when it wasn't relevant comes off as implicitly fetishistic of POC as if we need to be revered. Because would she have listened to and taken into consideration the exact same point if you were black? Asian? What race does she prefer to listen to as a white person herself?

They are trying to get you to engage in and conform with the hierarchy they perceive to govern the world. Maybe if they offer you your "rightful place" at the top you will take that as adequate payment to conform to the hierarchy. Well rejected.

In the end, people like to feel superior and have permission to be mean. As a white person, their only acceptable outlet is other white people with โbadโ opinions. I often think they feel it will get them brownie points from minorities.
