My boss asked me to explain to her exactly what I did to correct a problem that occurred the day before. She literally said “in detail”. So I did. Then she got upset and said out loud with another in the room “You don’t have to MANSPLAIN it to me.” I was so deeply offended, hurt and embarrassed, I shut down. I probably should have gone through the proper channels and report the incident, but I didn’t fearing her retaliation would make it worse. Tell me how I should have dealt with that???
