@graven_obligation: Stand By Me bridge filming location. Just off California 89. The scene where the train comes while the boys are still on the trestle has stuck with me since the movie. The hike in was easy and the day was clear. The bridge itself is the original structure used in the film. Walking out on it was different. The wooden ties are weathered thin in places, some are rotting through, and a few would not hold weight. The gaps between them are open to the water below. I stayed on the solid sections and turned around well short of the far side. Not recommending anyone else walk it. The structure is not maintained for foot traffic and a fall from this height would be fatal.
