@browneyedgurl801: Judah didn't hesitate for a second. Lauren Wiggins was 25 and packing her things into boxes to move out of the house she shared with her ex-fiancé in Seattle on November 19, 2024. He walked into the bedroom, opened a dresser drawer, took out a gun and, according to her account, started shooting. That's when her Cane Corso lunged at the man and tore a piece of his face off with his teeth. He was shot once in the head and once in the shoulder. Those seconds gave Lauren the chance to get out alive. She was taken to the hospital convinced her dog had died. She found out he was still alive a day later, when she had already accepted that she had lost him. Judah recovered. Lauren had adopted him at 19 with one very clear idea: that if she ever needed protection, he would be there. "I never thought the day would actually come," she said. Her ex-fiancé was arrested, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, and was released on parole in July 2026.
