Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji — Ang 791 A commonly quoted line associated with the symbolism of light is: ਜਹ ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਮਿਟੰਤੁ ॥ Transliteration: Jah giaan pragaas agiaan mittant. Meaning: Where the light of spiritual knowledge shines, ignorance is dispelled.
