i understand and appreciate this perspective but you’re also not a woman who has been followed home from people in westwood at night. westwood is a relatively nice area and STILL I have experienced so much harassment especially when i’m not walking around with a man. It can be scary when you’re being catcalled/followed by people who are obviously not in their right mind

I go to usc, always feel unsafe walking as a woman when outside of the immediate campus. but when i was visiting ucla area and had to walk place to place around westwood…i felt tremendously safer

Not as bad as people say it is. I worked late in the dining halls and walked to my uni apt.

me and a bunch of people got chased down by this one guy near the target. another time, a guy ran after my group of friends with a knife from whole food to our apartment. also the daily harassment on the way back to the apartment :) i’m glad you feel safe enough to say these things, but it doesn’t mean that other people feel the same

What a privileged take, i as well as my roommates have been verbally harassed almost daily by men screaming the most vulgar sexual things. Just because its safe for you doesnt mean its safe for us all

Westwood is pretty safe but one time I was walking past a guy giving a homeless woman and man money and the homeless women attacked the guy giving them money and then the other homeless guy beat the homeless woman up so you never know lol.
