Only local light sources change spot size with distance. If you point a flashlight close to paper, the lit circle is small and bright. As you pull it away, the circle expands, fades, and eventually disappears. Therefore, if the Moon were truly far away, its light wouldn't create a localized hotspot on the clouds.

There are mirrors on the moon left by two countries and confirmed by multiple countries and independent labs. Do some research. Even Myth Busters confirmed the mirrors and the distance.
