@nathanmorrismusic: Pacemakers have to come out before cremation. They can explode. The battery can burst in that heat and hurt the person running the chamber. So before any cremation the funeral home asks about pacemakers and other implants, and they get removed. If your person has one, say so at the arrangement. It's on the form for a reason.
