@rudygarciajr4: According to a Wall Street Journal post-midterms analysis, First Lady Melania Trump privately complained about people she knew getting caught up in ICE deportations. After that, President Trump told aides that Stephen Miller—the architect of the administration’s aggressive immigration crackdown—had “gone too far.” Mediaite The Journal described Trump as vacillating on enforcement throughout the year: sometimes pushing for an even harder crackdown, other times expressing reservations. Republicans in Texas and Florida also privately flagged concerns to the White House about raids sweeping up nonviolent workers at sites like Home Depot, construction, and processing plants. The report framed the immigration approach as one factor in the GOP’s midterm losses, alongside other issues, noting sharp shifts among Hispanic voters. Mediaite One widely discussed figure in related coverage is Brazilian former model Amanda Ungaro, a longtime social acquaintance of the Trumps through Paolo Zampolli (the modeling agent who has claimed credit for introducing Melania and Donald). Ungaro was arrested on fraud-related charges in Florida, held in ICE detention for months, and deported to Brazil in 2025. She has publicly criticized the process and alleged influence was used in her case; officials have denied political favoritism. It is not confirmed that she was specifically the subject of Melania’s reported complaint. Thedailybeast An East Wing spokesperson responded that “the allegation about Mrs. Trump’s friends being deported is unfounded and without merit.” Details on exactly when Melania raised the issue, which individuals were involved, or any concrete policy shifts remain limited in the reporting. @emilylgoodin The story has fueled commentary about selective enforcement, personal influence inside the White House, and the political costs of the mass-deportation push. #MelaniaTrump #StephenMiller #ICE #Immigration #TrumpAdministration
