Calorie deficit + cardio my holy grail 😩✨ I was in a calorie deficit for around 7–8 months, cut back MAJORLY on processed foods and started prioritising a whole foods diet. I initially did an hour of cardio 3x a week, before eventually switching to running 3–4x a week from August onwards! I noticed the biggest drop in weight during the first couple of months, which I think was largely down to cutting out processed foods and alcohol. A lot of the foods I used to eat were really high in sodium, which contributed to water retention and made me feel extremely puffy and bloated. Switching to a whole foods diet made such a difference to how I felt overall. When I was at uni, I’d always reach for whatever was easiest, which usually meant highly processed microwave meals and frozen foods rather than actually cooking proper meals. Another BIG thing I learnt was how to eat in moderation. I still ate junk food, had fizzy drinks and enjoyed the foods I loved. I just learnt how to fit them into my calorie deficit rather than completely restricting myself. Restricting myself was exactly what led to binge eating in previous attempts, which is why I could never stay consistent. You don’t have to be perfect, cut out everything you enjoy or live off salads to lose weight! It’s all about consistency over perfection🤍 @AYBL @Gymshark @USA PRO 💙 @HOKA @New Balance @Under Armour
